Dear Medical Laboratory Professionals and Friends,

It is my privilege to welcome you to the official website of the Nepal Association for Medical Laboratory Sciences (NAMLS). On behalf of the Executive Committee and all our members, I extend warm greetings to every medical laboratory scientist, technologist, and researcher committed to advancing healthcare in Nepal through excellence in laboratory medicine.

NAMLS was founded in May 1998 with a clear vision: to represent, empower, and advance the medical laboratory science profession across Nepal. Over the past two and a half decades, we have grown from a small ad-hoc committee to a nationally recognised professional body — and a full member of both the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and the Asia Pacific Federation for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine (APFCB) since 2010.

Medical laboratory sciences form the invisible backbone of modern healthcare. It is estimated that more than 70% of clinical diagnoses are informed by laboratory test results, yet the professionals behind these results often go unrecognised. NAMLS exists to change that — to champion the rights, professional development, and recognition of every medical laboratory professional in Nepal.

Our work encompasses continuous medical education (CME) programmes, national conferences, advocacy with the Ministry of Health and Population, curriculum development initiatives with universities and polytechnic institutes, and an annual journal that continues to grow in reach and quality. We remain deeply committed to quality standards, evidence-based practice, and the highest ethical standards in the profession.

As we look ahead, NAMLS is focused on expanding our membership, deepening our international collaborations, and ensuring that the voice of Nepal's laboratory professionals is heard at every policy table that matters. We invite every eligible professional to join NAMLS, contribute to our community, and help us build a stronger, more connected laboratory science profession for the benefit of Nepal's health system.

Thank you for your trust and your continued support of NAMLS.

Sincerely,

Prof. Dr. [President Name]
